The picture here is a drawing of a heart map by a girl in South Korea, called Lucy Kim.
"So what is a heart map?" I questioned her. She explained that it is a map or drawing that contains a specific memory of a certain place she has been to in her life.
The place Lucy Kim chose for this drawing is the Republic of Palau, Austria, in Europe.
The girl is currently a student in Branksome Hall Asia, 12 years old. Apparently she has little memory of the place since she visited the Palau when she was only 5 years old, although fortunately she still knows that she has spent a memorable time there.
Lucy says she remembers playing on the beach there with her family, and that she tried out many new things such as touching jellyfish (with no poison) and observing giant king shells. Now she has stored all her experiences and memories there into the heart map she drew.
Lucy sounded as though the Palau is a very special place to her. She says:
"For those who may want to visit the place, go to Austria."
Lucy Kim concludes the interview by telling me that if she meets a guide touring the Republic of Palau, she wants to say that she has had a very good and memorable time there and that she hopes the guide would share her own happy memories in Palau to other families as well.
Myself, as the reporter, want to express my gratitude towards Lucy Kim, who has heartily volunteered to share a special memory of hers with the many readers of this article.
